Editorial Standards & Quality
Every publication should include:
- title and concise summary
- content type and topic
- author, contributor or responsible editorial team
- publication date & last updated date
- disclosure of sponsorship or conflict
Source Quality
COBA prioritizes: official government and regulatory sources, legislation and official guidance, reputable academic and research institutions, and recognized international organizations.
Secondary sources should not be presented as official authority. Unverified social-media claims, promotional statistics and anonymous data should not be used as the sole basis for material conclusions.
Content Review Levels
- General Editorial Review: For news, event summaries and non-technical organizational content.
- Subject-Matter Review: For sector, logistics, market-entry or technical materials.
- Legal or Regulatory Review: For content that interprets legal obligations, regulated services, privacy, immigration, securities, product approvals or similar matters.
- Institutional Approval: For official statements, public-authority references, policy proposals, sensitive partnerships or COBA positions.
Date & Update Discipline
Market, legal and regulatory information can change. Each item must display:
- Published: original publication date
- Last reviewed: date of the most recent substantive review
- Information current to: where relevant
- Archived: when the material is no longer actively maintained
Older content should be marked clearly rather than silently presented as current.
