Partners and Strategic Alliances

Partners & Strategic Alliances

Collaboration Built on Clarity, Capability and Mutual Value

COBA works with qualified organizations that can contribute credible expertise, access, infrastructure, knowledge or implementation capacity to Canada–Oman cooperation.

A partner relationship may support a specific project, event, commission, research program, trade mission or longer-term institutional objective. The nature of each relationship must be documented accurately and communicated without exaggeration.

  • Knowledge Partner: An organization contributing research, expertise, speakers, training or publications.
  • Event Partner: An organization supporting the content, logistics, venue, participation or delivery of an approved event.
  • Sponsor: An organization providing financial or in-kind support under transparent sponsorship terms. Sponsorship does not provide control over COBA governance or editorial independence.

  • Mission Alignment: The relationship must support COBA’s purposes and Canada–Oman cooperation.
  • Independence: No partner may control COBA’s governance, public positions or member decisions through sponsorship or commercial leverage.
  • Transparency: The role, funding, benefits, communication rights and conflicts of interest must be documented.
  • Mutual Benefit: The relationship should create legitimate value for COBA’s stakeholders and the partner.

  • Data Protection: Information exchange must follow applicable privacy, confidentiality and security requirements.
  • Accurate Representation: A logo or announcement may be used only with permission and must describe the relationship accurately.
Process

Partnership Review Process

1

Proposal

The organization submits its profile, objectives, proposed contribution, requested benefits and intended duration.

2

Preliminary Fit Review

COBA assesses relevance, capacity, mission alignment and potential conflicts.

3

Due Diligence

COBA may request incorporation documents, ownership information, references, licences, policies, sanctions declarations, insurance or other evidence.

4

Scope and Approval

The parties define deliverables, responsibilities, fees or sponsorship, intellectual property, confidentiality, data use, brand rights, communication approval and termination.

5

Activation

The relationship becomes active only after the appropriate approval and execution of required documentation.

6

Monitoring & Renewal

Performance, risk, communication and continued relevance are reviewed. A relationship may be renewed, amended, suspended or ended.

Partner Visibility on the Website

A partner may be displayed only when the relationship is active, the exact category is approved, written logo permission exists, the description is accurate, and no unresolved material risk prevents publication.

Each CMS partner record should include: legal name, public display name, logo file and alt text, partnership category, approved description, start and review dates, geography and sector, public URL, written permission record, and publication status.

Sponsorship

COBA may accept lawful sponsorships consistent with its non-profit purposes and independence.

Sponsorship terms should address: sponsored activity and duration, financial or in-kind contribution, recognition and visibility, editorial independence, data access and privacy, use of marks, exclusivity (if any and legally permissible), conflicts and reputational safeguards, cancellation and refund treatment.

A sponsor does not obtain government status, Board authority, member data or control over COBA’s conclusions merely by providing support.
